Evening Prayer.

Prayers of the Missal.

Give virtue, O Lord, unto my hands(wasing hands), that every stain may be wiped away: that I may be enabled to serve Thee without defilement of mind or body.

Impone, Domine, capiti meo galeam salutis, ad expugnandos diabolicos incursus.

Place, O Lord, the helmet of Salvation upon my head, that I may overcome the assualts of the devil.

Dealba me, Domine, et munda cor meum: ut in sanguine Agni dealbatus, gaudiis perfuar sempiternis.

Cleanse me, O Lord, and purify my heart, that being made white in the Blood of The Lamb, I may have the fruition of Everlasting Joys.

Praecinge me, Domine, cingulo puritatis, et exstingue in lumbis meis humorem libidinis: ut maneat in me virtus contintentiae et castitatis.

Gird me, O Lord, with the girdle of purity and extinguish in my loins the desire of lust: so that the virtue of continence and chastity may ever abide within me.

May I be worthy, O Lord, so to bear the maniple of tears and sorrow: that with Joy I may receive the reward of my labour.

Redde mihi, Domine, stolam immortalitatis, quam perdidi in praevaricatione primi parentis: et, quamvis indignus accedo ad tuum sacrum mysterium, merear tamen guadium sempiternum.

Resore to me, O Lord, the stole of immortality, which I lost by the transgression of the first parent: and although unworthy, as I draw near to Thy sacred mystery, may I be found worthy of everlasting joy.

Amen.

O Lord, Who hast said: My yoke is easy, and My burden is light: make me so able to bear it, that I may obtain Thy favour.Amen.

All ye that thirst, come ye to the Waters: and you that have no money, hasten, buy and eat; come ye, buy without money and without any payment, wine and milk. Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labour for that which doth not satisfy? Ye hearers, hear Me, and buy that which is good, and your soul shall rejoice in fatness. Incline your ear and come to Me: hear and your soul shall live.

Amen.

(Stretching his hands over the offerings)

Amen.

(He blesses the offerings once more)

Quam oblationem Tu, Deus, in omnibus, quaesumus, bene+dictam, ad+scriptam, ra+tam, rationabilem, acceptabilemque facere digneris: ut nobis Cor+pus, et San+guis fiat dilectissimi Filii Tui Domini nostri Jesus Christi.

(He bows low to effect the Consecration)

(Striking his breast)

Nobis quoque peccatoribus famulis Tuis, de multitudine miserationum Tuarum sperantibus, partem aliquam et societatem donare digneris, cum Tuis sanctis Apostolis et Martyribus:cum Joanne, Stephano, Mathia, Barnaba, Ignatio, Alexandro, Marcellino, Petro, Felicitate,Perpetua, Agatha,Lucia, Agnete,Caecilia, Anastasia, et omnibus Sanctis Tuis: intra quorum nos consortium, non aestimator meriti, sed veniae, quaesumus, largitor admitte. +V. Initium sancti Evangelii secundum Joannem.

R. Gloria Tibi, Domine.

Fuit homo missus a Deo, cui nomen erat Joannes. (Here all kneel) ET VERBUM CARO FACTUM EST, et habitavit in nobis, et vidimus gloriam ejus, gloriam quasi unigeniti a Patre, plenum gratiae et veritatis.

R. Deo gratias.

Prayers for Russia.

Hail Mary full of Grace, The Lord is with Thee: Blessed art Thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.Amen. (This is repeated three times)

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy; hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To Thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To Thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V.Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

R.That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us Pray

O God, our refuge and our strength, look down in mercy on Thy people who cry to Thee; and by the intercession of the Glorious and Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, Saint Joseph Her Spouse, the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the Saints, in mercy and goodness hear our prayers for the conversion of sinners, and for the liberty and exaltation of our Holy Mother, the Church. Through the same Christ our Lord.Amen.

Holy Michael Archangel, defend us in the day of battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, thrust down to hell satan and all wicked spirits, who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.......Have mercy on us.(Repeated thrice)

Prayer for Governments.

We Pray thee, almighty and eternal God, Who through Jesus Christ has revealed Thy Glory to all nations, to preserve the works of Thy Mercy; that Thy Church, being spread through the whole world, may continue, with unchanging Faith, in the confession of Thy Name. We pray Thee, O God of Might, Wisdom, and Justice, through Whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted, and judgement decreed, assist, with Thy Holy Paraclete of Counsel and Fortitude, the President(Prime Minister), that his administration may be conducted in righteousness, and be eminently useful to Thy people, over whom he presides, by encouraging due respect for virtue and religion; by a faithful execution of the laws in justice and mercy; and by restraining vice and immorality. Let the Light of Thy Divine Wisdom direct the deliberations of Congress (Parliament), and shine forth in all proceedings and laws framed for our rule and government; so that they may tend to the preservation of Peace, the promotion of national happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety and useful knowledge, and may perpetuate to us the blessings of equal liberty.

We Pray for the Governer (Member of Parliament) of this state(District), for all members of the Assembly (Parliament),for all Judges, Magistrates, and other officers who are appointed to guard our political welfare; that they may be enabled, by Thy all powerful protection, to discharge the duties of their respective stations with honesty and ability.

We recommend likewise to Thy unbounded Mercy all our bretheren and fellow-citizens, that they may be Blessed in the knowledge, and sanctified in the observance of Thy Most Holy Law; that they may be preserved in union and in that Peace which the world cannot give; and, after enjoying the Blessings of this life, may be admitted to those which are eternal.Amen.
